POLLOK V CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS
5TH SEPTEMBER 2026
A split-second moment of pure football drama.
The goalkeeper at full stretch, the defender scrambling, the attackers sliding in on goal, the ball still in the air and everyone waiting to see what happens next — this is exactly why we love photographing the game.
It’s not just about capturing action, it’s about freezing the tension, emotion and uncertainty of a moment that lasts only a fraction of a second.
For us, this image has everything: timing, movement, commitment and storytelling.

POLLOK V ALBION ROVERS
26TH SEPTEMBER 2026
Every great sports photograph tells a story — and this one has everything. The goalkeeper is at full stretch, the ball is still alive, players are reacting in the box, and the supporters behind the goal are completely caught up in the moment. Look closely and you can see the tension written across the faces in the crowd, including one supporter reacting with his mouth wide open as the action unfolds in front of him.
It is a split-second combination of athleticism, pressure, anticipation and raw emotion — exactly what PEACOCK Sports Photography is about. This is why we chose it as our Photo of the Week. It doesn’t just show what happened — it makes you feel it.

RANGERS V CELTIC
4TH OCTOBER 2026
This week’s PEACOCK Sports Photography Photo of the Week comes from the TENNENT'S SIXES at Braehead Arena, and for us it perfectly captures what sports photography is all about — emotion, release and the story behind the moment.
Earlier in the tournament, Celtic had suffered a heavy 7–1 defeat to Rangers, a result that made Rangers look like the team to beat. They finished the weekend as the competition’s top scorers and went into the final carrying real momentum. But football has a habit of producing stories that refuse to follow the script.
When Celtic and Rangers met again in the final, Celtic produced an inspired performance and edged a remarkable 5–4 victory, lifting the new TENNENT'S SIXES trophy and becoming the first winners of the revived tournament in 33 years. That is what makes this image so special.
The outstretched arms, the expression on the player’s face and the reaction in the arena all combine to show more than just celebration. It is relief, pride, disbelief and joy — the culmination of a dramatic turnaround from earlier disappointment to final triumph.
For PEACOCK, this photograph stands out because it tells the whole story in a single frame. You do not need to see the scoreboard to understand that something significant has just happened. The emotion says it all.
That is why this is our Photo of the Week.
